Change Leave a Reply Wording in WordPress Theme

In this tutorial, you will learn how to change ‘Leave a Reply’ text in the comment form of a WordPress theme. This text is also known as the Reply Title element.

To change it, all you need to do is add a simple code in your WordPress theme’s function.php file.

Here’s a short guide on how to do it.

Change Leave a Reply Text in Comment Form

Leave a Reply - WordPress Reply Title

Step 1. Log-in to your WordPress dashboard.

Step 2. Go to Appearance → Editor → Theme Functions (functions.php)

Step 3. Find the closing tag: ?>

Then paste the code below before it.

function comment_reform ($arg) {
$arg['title_reply'] = __('Leave a Reply');
return $arg;
}
add_filter('comment_form_defaults','comment_reform');

Don’t forget to change ‘Leave a Reply’ text in the code with your preferred Reply title. For example, Post a Comment, Post a Question here, Share Your Thoughts, etc.

Step 4. Click Update file.

Now, go to your site then check the comment form section.

If you’re using a cache plugin such as W3 Total Cache or WP Super Cache, empty all caches first before you check it. You may also check it in other web browser.

Thanks for the comment, suggestion, or whatever. I will reply as soon as I can. Make sure you do not write your message in text-speak as it will most likely go to Trash. Write your comment legibly and don't make it hard for me. Type in English only. Thanks!
