Not really a fan of Globe but, their iPhone SE caught my attention, and eventually applied for a postpaid line worth 999.
I submitted the required docs to Globe online. Luckily, my application was approved though, the entire procedure took a month.
Here’s how my application went:
August 23, 2017 (Day 1) – Application was filed at Globe website. The docs I forwarded were:
1. Proof of identity – UMID
2. Proof of billing address – Mine’s different on UMID. I passed a PDF copy of my credit card bill.
3. Proof of income – PDF copies of both COE (Certificate of Employment) and BIR Form 2316
I received a call in the afternoon and follow-ups on the succeeding days about employment verification. Globe asked me to notify our company to respond to their email. I did not but, since a guy kept calling and nagging, I was forced to message our HR and they complied immediately.
September 13, 2017 (Day 22) – Application was approved. The same guy called me about the good news.
September 14, 2017 (Day 23) – Globe sent the ATC Form (Authorization to Deduct).
Their process is old-school. In Smart, they will send an email with a link to pay using a card. With Globe, I had to print a form, fill it out with sensitive card info, scan, and email it. Plus, I had to attach a picture of my card and ID. This is all because I chose card payment. But, it took a few days before I submitted those because of the errors in the form. The billing address as well as the monthly bill are inaccurate.
I exchanged emails with a specific Globe employee but, the ammended form still has errors. Haha! Globe customer service really s***s.
September 24, 2017 (Day 33) – Forwarded the required docs for payment.
September 25, 2017 (Day 34) – Globe charged the advance payment to my card.
A lady called me in the afternoon to confirm payment and device delivery. They’ll send it to our office but, I refused. They sent it to my billing address instead. Got irritated that time too because my address is still wrong. Fudge!
September 26, 2017 (Day 35) – A courier woke me up at 2pm. The delivery was speedy though, I had to sign a lot of papers.
The iPhone box was handed to me with the SIM card taped on it. I set it up on my own.
I got a call after a few hours to confirm receipt and for line activation. The SIM was quickly enabled, but a restart is a must in order for the device to get signal.
Globe sent a useless tracking information to my email on the day I filed my application. Until now, the status is still in processing.
I just hope that the experience throughout the contract will be hassle-free. Cross fingers.
