Guest Checkout Option: eBay

Is there a way to buy item[s] on eBay without the need to create an account or sign up for PayPal? Is there a Guest Checkout option?

Yes, there is! It is available to anyone who does not want to register on and would like to buy items listed on the website without the need to sign in, but to check out immediately.

Guest Checkout option can be used to purchase an item as a gift for someone anywhere in the world as long as the seller offers international shipping and allows delivery to a certain country.

The process is just the same like what those who have an account on eBay doing. First, browse items to buy and add them to the shopping cart [Use the Add to Cart button].

If ready to check out, just go to the cart, review or edit the items in the list, click the “Proceed to checkout” button, then click on “Continue as a guest” on the next page. See featured image above.

The option will not appear if there is an active account logged-in to the website.

Note: For a single-item order, click the “Buy It Now” button on the item page, then click on “Continue as a guest”.

The next thing to do is to fill out the shipping address and contact information form.

I’m not going to discuss in detail the entire checkout procedure. It’s easy. Once on the payment page, just choose a payment method, say debit or credit card via PayPal, then follow the on-screen instruction.

eBay will send a confirmation email containing the access code that can be used to check the order details, contact the seller[s], leave a feedback, or request a return.

The option will not be available or will not show up if an item can’t be shipped to another country which the eBay system automatically detects. Say, I go to the eBay US site. The system will detect [prolly using the IP address] that I’m from another country and will show on each item page I access if the item can be shipped to our country or not.

If the item is only available for shipping, say in the US, Guest Checkout option will be available in that specific country only.

  1. Worked like a dream!!

I come to the U.S. for my church a couple of times a year for short visits but it is seven days a week and as I don’t have use of a car or more than a couple of hours free a day to try going round shopping centres in distant suburbs using public transport; it was very prohibitive.

Now, I can get things delivered to where I stay, save some money and can get small but special gifts for people that I would not otherwise be able to get.

    Thank you!

Good luck with your goals! If you ever visit L.A. there is a particular chaplain who is also a trained life-coach/counsellor who has had good and regular success with people (including myself) that otherwise are not really catered for and positively changes people’s day to day life; who may be of interest to you.
