Have you ever wondered how to make your timeline unsearchable on either Facebook Search or search engines? You want it private because:
-You don’t want to receive friend requests from unknown people.
-You don’t want to receive anonymous messages.
-There are people you’re avoiding.
-You don’t want to get spammed etc.
Whatever reasons you may have, making your account unsearchable is 100% possible. Here’s how to do it:
1. Log-in to your Facebook account.
2. Click the Gear (Tools) button beside the padlock icon.
3. Select Privacy Settings.
4. Under Privacy Settings Tools, click Edit link of each of the following options:
Who can look you up using the email address or phone number you provided? Select Friends.
If you select Everyone, other people will be able to search your timeline by using either your phone number or e-mail address on Facebook Search.
Who can look up your timeline by name? Select Friends as well.If you select Everyone, other people will be able to look up your timeline using your name on Facebook Search.
Do you want other search engines to link to your timeline? Uncheck Let other search engines link to your timeline option.
If this option is enabled, you can turn it off however it will take time for search engines to stop showing your timeline URL from search results.
5. Success! You’ve just made your account unsearchable on Facebook.
Remember, with the new settings you made, only your friends will be able to search your timeline. Non-friends are off-limits.
